LLRP

hero

LLRP (Low Level Recovery Protocol) is a specialized network protocol designed to simplify and accelerate the setup of modern lighting networks. Instead of spending time manually configuring IP addresses or troubleshooting network chaos, LLRP automatically discovers and configures compatible devices—even those with bad or unknown IP settings. It's a foundational tool within the RDMnet (ANSI E1.33) standard but is widely used for basic IP configuration in Art-Net, sACN, and other lighting environments. LLRP helps assign IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways, DNS servers, and RDMnet Scopes, ensuring that devices can communicate reliably on the network. By centralizing discovery and configuration—usually through an LLRP Manager like QubiSet—LLRP removes the need for direct connections or climbing ladders to reach misconfigured fixtures. This means faster, error-free setups and effortless recovery of devices, delivering unmatched convenience for lighting techs in both dynamic shows and permanent installations.
