2025 marked QubiCast’s transition from concept to industry reality, establishing partnerships and releasing tools that address real challenges in networked lighting control.
Demonstrating Innovation: PLASA Plugfest

Co-founder Philipp attended PLASA Plugfest in March, where he benchmarked the performance of DMX encryption on the RP2350 ARM microcontroller, using the encryption library libhydrogen. The general hands-on development environment at Plugfest provided valuable technical feedback and connections that shaped our approach throughout the year.
Building Connections: Prolight + Sound
Our first major trade show appearance at Prolight + Sound 2025 in Frankfurt ( May 8-11) proved pivotal. We connected with competitors, lighting manufacturers, and enthusiasts across the spectrum. From clubs and churches to stadiums, all wanting to test QubiSet in their environments.

We also met DIY builders interested in running QubiCore on Raspberry Pi for custom fixtures.
One extended conversation at the show launched what became our most significant partnership of the year: Elation’s Netron CLU 2.0 project.
Strategic Partnership: Powering Elation’s Netron CLU 2.0

Since November, we’ve partnered with Elation to develop Netron CLU 2.0, the next-generation replacement for their CLU 1.0 control system. QubiSet forms the technological foundation of CLU 2.0, creating a true symbiosis: improvements we develop for Elation directly benefit QubiSet users, and vice versa.
CLU 2.0’s key advancement is a graphic node-based network view that lets users identify network issues and understand device relationships at a glance.
Make sure to also check out Elation’s booth 6Q300 at ISE 2026.
Advancing the Platform: QubiSet

We launched the first public preview of QubiSet on September 10th, marking an exciting milestone in our mission to simplify lighting network management.
Two months later, we released QubiSet 0.1.7 on November 10th with major improvements:
- ArtIpProg support: Remote IP configuration via Art-Net. Controllers can now push IP address, subnet, gateway, or DHCP mode changes to devices and validate the updates when devices reply with their new network settings.
- Enhanced RDM handling: Added RDM over LLRP support for IP-based transport and fixed RDM deduplication to eliminate duplicate device entries in the UI.
- Refined Network monitoring: Improved stability and visualization across the platform.
Coming in 0.1.8: Our Closed Beta opens to registered testers.
While our alpha was limited to close contacts from Prolight + Sound and Plugfest, the Closed Beta enables users to test QubiSet in their actual environments like stages, theaters, live shows, and buildings, providing real-world feedback that will directly shape the product.

Meeting the Community: ISE 2026
Visit us February 3–6 in Barcelona at ISE’s Innovation Park startup area Booth CS399. Try QubiSet hands-on and see our interactive QubiCast logo lamp controlled through the software in real-time.
For lighting professionals: Discuss how QubiSet changes network monitoring workflows.
For manufacturers: Learn how QubiCore technology simplifies protocol integration in your fixtures, accelerating development and enabling full protocol adoption.
We’ll share video coverage across LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram.
2026 and Beyond
QubiSet's Closed Beta launches in Q1 alongside our ISE 2026 presence in Barcelona.
In April, we'll attend Light + Building Frankfurt, connecting with manufacturers and architectural lighting companies to discuss how QubiSet and QubiCore could address monitoring challenges in the architectural market.
Thank you for your support in 2025. Here’s to a year of real-world impact in 2026.
A happy new year from QubiCast!
