Today marks an exciting milestone as we release the first public Alpha preview of QubiSet to our close industry partners. This launch begins QubiSet’s product lifecycle, and from now on, we will share a monthly development blog highlighting recent progress, bug fixes, and our roadmap for what’s next.
What Is QubiSet?
QubiSet is our new network monitoring and device identification tool for lighting networks spanning stages and architectural installations. It’s designed to streamline visibility and diagnostics in modern lighting environments.

Current Features
Automatic Device Detection:
QubiSet scans the local IP subnet for all Art-Net devices and lists any RDM devices attached. It also detects all LLRP devices within the same multicast network. No manual setup required.
Note: Multicast connectivity is required for LLRP device visibility.
Intuitive Network View:
Instantly see all detected fixtures, nodes, and controllers, organized by name, model, IP address, and DMX universe.

Detailed Device Information:
Click any listed device to view its name, manufacturer, and detection protocols. For Art-Net nodes, the software displays port configurations and assigned universes; for RDM devices, QubiSet shows the connected universe, DMX start address, and operating mode (presented as a number for now)

Device Locate (Identify):
Need to physically pinpoint a fixture or node? Activate "Identify" mode—QubiSet triggers flashing lights for supported devices, making real-world identification seamless.

RDM Device Re-ordering:
RDM does not allow detecting the connection order of devices. That’s why QubiSet offers an Order Edit Mode to change the order of every chain of RDM devices. This order persists and remains consistent if QubiSet detects these devices elsewhere.

Behind the Scenes

QubiSet’s core focus in this Alpha is robust and reliable device discovery. All detected devices and their properties are view-only at this stage. Functions like editing names, reordering devices, or adjusting network settings will roll out in future betas based on real feedback from our testers.
To make onboarding easy, we’ve bundled QubiSet in a straightforward Windows installer.
Looking Ahead
Our development roadmap includes:
- Disconnected device detection
- Device event logs
- Enhanced device values with upcoming editing options
- LLRP: Editable network settings
- Protocol-specific Identify state display
- Port-specific universe assignment for Art-Net nodes
Additional planned features:
- Bulk DMX address assignment
- Saved sets for network configurations
- RDM sensor readouts (like device temperature)
- DMX monitoring for entire universes (Art-Net/sACN)
- Customizable device info views
The roadmap will evolve as we integrate Alpha and Beta feedback, so every insight counts!
